The origianl Florence’s Restaurant opened, January 1974 in Boston. Shortly after the restaurant opening they fell short of help and at the age of 12 Florence starting working for her parents.

Florence and her brother Joseph wanted their parents to open another restaurant, so they found a location in Merrimack, NH, and opened in April 1989. Florence stayed in Boston and worked. Shortly after the opening her brother was offered a great job and couldn’t do both. That’s when Florence along with her husband Donald, and daughter Alyssa moved to Merrimack, to run her parents restaurant. After 8 years the lease expired. Florence’s in Merrimack closed, but the Boston location was still going strong. Trying to find a new location wasn’t working, so they sold everything and thought it was over.

About 4 months later, Florence received a phone call asking if I would be interested in leasing a space that was already a restaurant. Before you knew it, they were back in business. On July 29, 1977, Florence’s as we know it now reopened.
